Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It’s already halfway through September and I am so so ready for fall, despite the current weather hanging onto summer with all its might. I’m the kind of person to make pumpkin foods year-round, so it’s nice when it’s seasonally appropriate. If you’re looking to dive into the leaves of fall, try out these pumpkin pasties. The crust is nice and flaky and the filling is rounded out well with a medley of spices. It’s all topped with a sugar and spice mixture to give it an extra crunch. I recommend listening to the Harry Potter soundtracks while making these. It ads a certain, dare I say, magic to the whole experience.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Here is a little recipe to brighten up your morning. I wanted to make one more summery recipe before going fully into fall mode and using cinnamon with reckless abandon. I wanted to squeeze a bit of summer into a crackle cookie before it completely went away and I’d like to think I accomplished that. These cookies are soft, not too sweet with a bit of tartness. If you want a quick lemon fix, look no further!

Good Morning and Happy Saturday! It’s good to get back in a baking groove again. To celebrate doing this whole writing recipes and posting them thing that I’ve been doing for a year, I decided to make a triple layer funfetti cake. Turns out I let the cakes cool a smidge too long and opted not to grease my pans. Don’t be like me, grease your pans and you’ll have a smoother time baking this than I did. All baking mishaps aside, this it a cake that is a deliciously vanilla cake that is ready to party.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Though the flavors happening this week aren’t necessarily summer appropriate, I thought they’d spice things up a bit. It was a fantastic excuse to make my apartment smell like cinnamon. Not only that, but you get a bit of nutmeg, ginger, and clove to round out the pumpkin spices. To balance out the spices, I decided to pair it with a sweet marshmallow creme frosting. If you are looking for some creme cheese frosting, might I point you to the one in the Pumpkin Cutout Cookie recipe I posted in the fall?

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! I hope you are all keeping cool this three-day weekend. If you’re looking for something to sweeten up your picnics, try out these cookies. They are fudgy and pack a chocolate punch. You can crumble them over some ice cream or enjoy them directly out of the oven. Continue reading “Triple Chocolate Cookies”
Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Spring is here and I couldn’t be happier! To ring in the longer days and warmer weather, I thought I’d make some lemon cupcakes. These cupcakes are a little zesty, a little sweet, with a pop of lemon curd in the center.

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Another Sunday morning classic I had growing up was blueberry muffins. Whether it was out of the packet or from scratch, having muffins for breakfast was a berry welcome treat. Blueberry muffins weren’t always a clear favorite for me. Don’t get me wrong, I always liked blueberry muffins but they weren’t always my favorite. Overtime my tastes changed and blueberry muffins became my number one muffin flavor. This probably has something to do with how great they were at Iowa State. This recipe was my attempt to achieve something like it, but with some edits. Good Morning and Happy Saturday! This morning I’d like to share my Grandma’s butter cookie recipe. It’s another Christmas classic that is requested every year by at least one family member, much to my mother’s chagrin. I, however, always loved rolling out and decorating these cookies over the holidays. I have been known to break this recipe out for any sort of holiday and season.

Good Morning and Happy Friday! What better way to celebrate than with a little chocolate? If you are needing a little bit of snow, these sugar dusted cookies might just do the trick. At least, they always reminded me of a cold, snowy day.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! I wanted to try to make something I haven’t made before – shortbread. Shortbread is a firm favorite of my mother and brother. I only really remember my family making it from scratch one time in my life, and I didn’t really remember what it entailed. I just remembered it was a crisp and wonderfully buttery treat.
